Driving the Economy into the ground is a good job? Practically zero job creation is a good job? GOing to war on flase intelligence is a good job? Im just getting started, besides, the man is so stupid he cant even get thorugh a speech someone else wrote for him without stumbling.

 

I see the economy doing good, it did go into the ground but it wasnt bush the one who crashed those airplanes into those buildings. He does stumble with his speech but that doesnt make him stupid. I see things differently from you, we should leave it at that otherwise this will have no end.

 

Political discussions on this board are the only time I see i-Club members spin their wheels.

It usually ends up with the conservatives and liberals (their labels, not mine) taking sides and bashing each other, people getting mad and calling names and making it personal. I've seen political threads on the usenet go on for weeks, watching someone try to 'prove' the other guy wrong. Watch the next heated discussion on this board or somewhere else and see if I'm right. Most people don't want to listen - they want to shove their point of view down your throat. Too bad more people don't look for common ground.

Political discussion is best carried out amongst personal friends or in a setting with a moderator of some sort. Friends will tend to listen to an argument without taking it personally or being judgmental. I can have a view 180 degrees out from my friends' and we can discuss it until we've run out of arguments, then go out and have a beer.

Nah man, I not a republican. I just look at things differently. I was in the military when clinton was president and it was a lot different when Bush took over. But those SUV's scare the s**t out of me. Too damn big. lol

 

Makes sense, and pretty much true. Politics and religion are similar as you will never convince the other person with the things that ur saying. Their minds have been made up and nothing will change that. Let talk about cars!:banana:

I'll let you guys in on a secret- I'm not really in favor of banning much of anything. My reasons for hating SUVs and their drivers (well, the 90% who don't need them anyway) is because it's just another symbol of American excess, which is the real reason most of the world hates us. We have far more in terms of goods, money, and power as an average American than we deserve. Then there is the fact that a stupid driver in an Expedition is far more dangerous (not to mention just plain rude and inconsidrate) than the same driver in the Camry he or she should be driving. People need to learn that just because you can do something doesn't mean you should, or even that doing it is acceptable.

i can see both sides. but i also feel that if you see an injustice in this country, it is more partiotic to voice dissent than it is to nod your head with the norm.
