Yes driving fast is bad, let's all drive the speed limit.

Hey I was there today! So this was the first time I pushed my STi hard where there were turns. We left the house at 8 am. It was me, my friend with a 350z and another friend with a 325 e46. We went over the Golden Gate bridge and headed over to Highway 1. Highway one was beautiful, a nice drive, nice road but we were stuck behind a slow slow slow car, and we didn't push that hard. If at all. We then turned on to Bolinas road and it was the one lane road without any markings. By that time, it was around 9 I think but still there were no cars. There were a few bicyclist but besides that not too many traffic. The drive up was great, very fun, I was trailing in the back and my friend's z infront and the beamer in the way front. My friend's Z's wheel spin but not a lot oversteer, just spin when he put the pedal to the metal out of the turn so non of us really pushed THAT hard. Trailing was fun but not as exciting. We were very careful as we knew there were bikers and other cars, so we weren't too crazy, and the traffic was light. On the way back is another story. Lots more car since it was like 4 or 5 on a saturday. So at first I was leading, and it's a lot scarier and harder since you have to define the line. So only pushed when I could see far ahead and took is slow in the blind corners. I went pretty slow since my friend's 3series and Z was right behind me. We got yelled at my a motorcyclist. My friend's drink exploded in the car and we stopped in the middle of the road to dump it out, and I guess that was a bad idea...for people pushing their bikes or cars which is their bad if they hit us for driving like a maniac. The motocyclist was mad and said "Get off the road someone's going to hit you", but we had no where to go, and lanes are narrow and no where to stop safely. Anyways, the drive was great, as traffic increased we just drove slowly on the one lane part of the road and drove slow back to SF.

I definitely will drive it again, I had a great time, but i wish i wish there were no cars or bicyclist or ...anything So i only endager myself. Do you guys know if like those hardcore bicyclist start riding at 5am? What's a good time where tehres daylight to drive? My friends and I were thinking about just sending one car up and telling us if the coast is clear.
If you want to push your car hard, there's a great place out near Sonoma to do it. It's this place called "Infineon Raceway". I'd prefer not to hear that some dumbass in a Subaru ran over and killed a bicyclist or a motorcycle, because he thought that the road was clear. If you want to push your car hard on a road, then you'd better have the instincts and the understanding of vehicle control down well enough to avoid hitting things. Stewarts Point-Skaggs Springs is a great road for you, because it is much WIDER, and has room to maneuver in case you get into trouble.

Like I repeatedly said, I only pushed the car, where there were no blind turns, and even if there was a turn, I did not even get that much tire screech, only when I was clear. This was a one time thing. Who woudn't love to go track racing, but some of us just can't afford it. We were very careful and there weren't any "close calls", so you do not have to lecture me on going to the track because I know.

so you can afford a 30,000 dollar car, but not a 150 dollar track day?

oh wait, didn't your parents buy you the car?

Yes, they did, and many on these boards have their cars bought for them, don't hate. Since I'm guessing you're not asian, you wouldn't understand. Different cultures view parenthood differently, so if you don't understand, don't comment.

I have to wonder if your read your PM that I sent you with the video link...

...and daredevil...I'm not always a cager ranting on the squids...

I understand that there is a time and place for having some spirited driving fun (not DRUNK "Spirited")...but Fairfax-Bolinas on the weekend during the summertime is NOT one of them.

I've already quoted your entire review once for posterity...now I've picked out certain sections to review with you...and why I suggest you take it to the track...

You claim you weren't pushing it...yet your friend with his Z car runs into a condition of "oversteer"? Or is it he's simply putting down so much power, instead of finessing the vehicle around the corner (since you guys aren't "pushing it") ??

So, you wish that there were no cars, bicyclists or anything...so you can "ONLY ENDANGER MYSELF"?? Gee...when I drive, even in a spirited manner, I work especially hard at making sure that my vehicle, my passenger and myself are safe at all times. I don't think I've heard the tires squeal lately...and if you notice on that little video I sent you a link for, the tires don't squeal, and I was ALWAYS in MY LANE.

Me, a hypocrite? Nah...I'm not one. I enjoy a good drive at a spirited pace...but I also know where my limits of safety are, so I NEVER have to feel as though I'm endangering myself, or anyone who's on the road around me.
