question-

Have there been a lot of car thefts lately? I'm an LSx guy by background, but now DDing a heavily modded FXT.

There have been a LOT of thefts of SUVs and cars with LSx motors all over the bay area lately - anyone seeing the same thing with Subarus? Malls, Movies, Gyms, Driveways, etc.

IE do I need to be super paranoid like all of my LSx buddies are being?

LS motors are being dropped in everything seems like now a days... From 240's,280Z's, miata's, and even subys. I could see that.

 

Yep, that's the theory.

I had a LS1 in a RX7 for a few years, and an LT1 in a jag as well. Will eventually put one in a Chevelle or early Camaro.

Hell, I'd put one in my Forester if I didn't go to the snow a lot.

Yeah with the price of the LS1's coming down its becoming a very popular swap.
My neighbor's nephew also has one is his rx-7 sounds like a total beast when ever he comes by.
I wouldn't be too paranoid if i was you with your Forester.
Edit: oh yeah and from your first post "Have there been a lot of car thefts lately?" there are always a lot of car thefts

 

Only an LS4 might fit in the Atom. A former Atom owner is building a new car that is very similar to an Atom but with a LSx and Porsche transaxle:
