thank you all VETERANS!
happy veterans day.
(actually it was yesterday...)
but as i type this on a morning that i should be in bed asleep already, i cant help but think that we as a nation enjoy so much freedom and remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
back when i was young(er), i was just glad that we had a day off from school.
veterans day and memorial day. big whoop...
but then i started to learn what each day meant.
yesterday at church, our pastor asked people to stand who have served during war times.
1 person stood for WWII. 3 stood for korean war. about 6 for vietnam. about the same for the first gulf war. and no one stood up for the current war in iraq and afghanistan... until someone mentioned that they were still over there...
lots stood when asked who served during peace time.
so, chime in for all veterans. please state when (and where) you served and which service.

Thank you Veterans! I hope Bush and whoever follows in the office after his takes better care of all our homeless veterans; considering they lead the majority.

My Grandfather fought in WWII and was definately a big reason why I enlisted. 15 years later I still serve in a Military where we support and defend the Constitution, even though this war is not at all popular, it is nice to see the amount of support that "we" get from those at home.

I'm a current member of the Coast Guard. I serve on the USCGC Boutwell homeported out of Alameda, CA. I think there's another on here that is on the same cutter as me too.
