tgv stuck open?

tgv stuck open?
I'm posting in this section because it's really the only active part of the site and i kinda need a quick answer

So today i threw the CEL p1092 which is my left side tgv is stuck open. I called up gst and they said usually when this happens my motor is dead and it sounds like PITA to replace...
Problem is i have work in like 2 hours. So my question is if my car is ok to drive.
2002 wrx
106k miles
catless up/down
cat back
perrin light weight crank pulley
tuned @gst with accessport

EDIT: just called up GST and they said it should be good to drive as long as i'm pretty mellow about it.

Just to increase my knowledge of the situation, I thought once a motor is warm, the TGV is fully open, so doesn't it only effect his cold start?

Correct, TGV's are only closed when the motor Is first warming up.

Op let your car fully warm up before you rip on It.

Is it the control motor or the position sensor that is defective?

dont know yet but it sounds like it's usually the motor that goes?
how would i check to see which it is?
