My parents said that the electricity has been down in all of Palo Alto, and my brother had to take a bio test by candle light at the high school today. We have solar panels on our roof but they are wired in to the city so the house was still powerless.

I'm a security guard at Facebook and their HQ is in Palo Alto. Power went out at exactly 7:52 am for us and was still out when I left at 2pm. All the employees went home and I heard traffic on el camino was nuts due to the street lights being out. 'twas a slow day for me though =P
Oh and I strongly believe that most of the employees that went home did so because the kitchen staff couldn't make
food hahaha
