Bump for info.

I've been slowly building my go bag. I need some recommendations for a folding knife and a fixed blade knife. I was looking at the Smith & Wesson SWBLOP3TS Black OPS 3 Tanto Serrated Knife.

Also would like help picking a backpack. Thanks!

I recommend a sharp knife as they seem to cut better than the dull ones.

In fact, I would just avoid the dull knives all together.

Knifes, look for a Benchmade. Any model the looks good to you, is good to go. Top tier company, with amazing products. You will pay a little more, but if it may be saving your life one day, and I for damn sure want to know the blade of my knife is still sharp after skinning a Buck with it the day before.

Backpacks are kind of a personal choice. You have to go with what you like and feel good with, remember you may be hikeing 20-30 miles a day with the thing to get out of the area.

I personaly went with the 5.11 3day BOB pack. I like that it fits all my molle items, its got plenty of space, and handles dual hydration packs. However, I am a big guy, so carrying 60 pounds on my back is not as bad as it is going to be for a smaller person.

I am also making packs for the dogs, with molle attachment points. So they will carry their own food/water, and 4-8 mag's for the AR's.
