I use Redline 10W40 in my STi (same thing I used in my WRX), and the cheapest place to get it is Monument Car Parts.

I thought high viscosity was for high milege cars?

How much is Redline per quart? You are talking about the Monument on SRV blvd. near In n' Out, right?

there are a whole lot of threads focused on changing your oil. try scoobymods, nasioc and do a search here.
Oh, I'm aware of those DIY threads, there's plenty. I just don't have the driveway space nor the time to do it. I just got mine done for $13 today at some shop by my house. :P Thanks anyway. ^_^

Synthetic oils tend to flow better at higher viscosities.

I've been doing this on the recommendation of my old mechanic, ckevin.

Yes ambert, that is the Monument I go to.

Redline there is like 5.90/qt. or something....I forget

(EDIT: I was told to use this because of the Turbo, I forgot that Takumi has an RS)

Btw...

Target has Mobil 1 on sale for 3.44/qt.

For the mathematically challenged in here: 17.20 for 5 quarts.

Just do it in the street. You don't have to jack up the car, and the streets more level than your driveway, most likely. I've done dozens of oil changes on the street.
I can't help you with the time, but it *does* take less time to change your own oil than it does to drive to a Jiffy Lube or mechanic. Oil changes are super easy.
