I dont have a problem with white guys with asian girlfriends. Hell, I have a white friend whose last few gf's have been asian. Its all good in my book.

BUT, I do know how the hollywood industry works because I have several friends in it. I wont go into detail cause then I'll write like pages and pages.

you laugh at it.. but I've seen so many white guys try to roll up to asian girls banking on their whiteness its.. well.. i guess it is funny to me too. haha. unfortunately there are times where it really isnt funny. like when my friends (who would never date a non-asian guy) get sexually assaulted by these guys cause they cant stand not getting what they want and thinking its as "easy as in the movies" .. you may think i'm pissed cause you assume white guys are taking asian girls from me. thats definately not the case. its cause girls i know have gotten assaulted by white guys thinking that all asian girls fall in love with the white guy at 1st sight.

 

i'm in the same boat. i have non-asian guy friends w/ asian gfs. it's not a problem for me. in fact i welcome diversity. what i do have a problem with are stereotypes that hollywood perpetuates.

ever notice in tv and film that the majority of asians males are usually gangsters/badguys, supergeeks, or old wise men w/ a thick and silly accent?
asian women are usually playing characters who are helpless, innocent, or live a sheltered childhood.

and it's not just asian stereotypes here. what about the arab/muslic characters....can we all say terrorist? the list goes on. i wish that the filmmakers and writers realize that the stereotypes they incorporate reach far and wide into society.

you need to realize that things aren't all one sided. I had to stop going to the lime light years ago..think it's gone now...but anyways.....I had to stop because I got sick of asian guys starting **** with me because there asian girls would come up to ME to dance. I never EVER make a first move on a dance floor. Never had to. Or at a bar. I've had so many guys give me ****...asian guys cause their girls come up to me. It's the same way with many other races as well.

You also have to realize that for the most part..if you're hanging out at trendy bars you're getting to see the best of the white race.....of course I jest. Most of these guys are jock meatheads who are just out to get laid. Watch to much **** and jerk it to hot asian girls on a nightly basis. **** and movies tell them they can be billy bad *** and get the girl...we all know that's not true most of the time...but it works enough that a lot of these tools get laid enough that they keep doing it. That's why I stay away from those places most of the time. Places like coaches in fremont. I stopped going there like 3/4 years ago cause I got sick of fights starting every night by stupid white jocks.

Got to realize that the world is HEAVILY influenced by movies and music. It sucks but it's true. And you also have to realize that most stereotypes are there for a reason...they started off very true...to a point...they are the truth taken to extreme.

Just like most of this post...truth taken to extreme. Lot of jackasses in this world.



You want to talk about biracial issues...try being a black guy with a blonde white wife. You get it from damn near everyone. Black women get pissed cause a great ellible black guy is taken by another white girl. Others get pissed...etc.

Spending a lot of time with my cousins really openned my eyes to the fact that racism is alive and thriving in this country. It's sad. Very sad. I hate it.

I honestly don't get it. I was raised to look at people. I lived in the ghetto. The best friend I had in my child hood was black. I have TONS of asian friends...kind of happens when you dig yourself into the import seen...a true stereotype.

Hollywood does what sales. The hot innocent asian girl sells....but don't forget the other movie...there are TONS of movies with asian woman that kick ***. Kill Bill being one of them...but think about it...TONS.


And just like most asian men in movies are either marcial arts heros, funny, dorky, nerdy or old and wise....like you said...most black guys in movies are gang bangers, thugs or ghetto, most mexicans are cholos and most white guys are big jocky meat head types or over inflated jack asses.

oh ya.. i hate going to those all asian clubs too. too much attitude from both guys and girls.. the people are so much nicer at the mixed clubs from my experiences.

Some great clubs out there....I"m a big fan of Molly McGee's. Other favorites are places like the Lost Weekend in Alameda. Lucky 13, Irish Bank, 500 club in SF. Cafe Du Nord. Stuff like that. I don't like confrontation.
