The s-techs are supposed to lower the car about 2" in Front and about 1" rear. As far as the excess wheel well gap....yes they take up the gap nicely....however, on my car, they take up the gap better on the left, than on the right.

I am not sure I want to take it back to streetwize...for several reasons.

1. they are way outta the way for me
2. they dont know crap about Subies
3. I dont think the problem is something they caused, (unless they put the rear springs on the right side of the car and the front springs on the left side). Plus, I bought the springs from Gruppe-s....so if it is a problem with the actual springs, then its not something streetwize will handle anyways.

Hmmm, I dunno, on average about how long does it take for the suspension to fully "settle" into its final position? anyone?

Thanks for all the help!

what about where "X" should be "Z"? People can do whatever they want to the cars, because... well they got the money. To me the ricer term has lost it's total meaning. It started as cars with unpainted body kits, cut springs, and homemade exhausts were considered "ricers" to now, where ricers are just people you don't like or cars you don't like.

Regardless rather or not people like Caddies on 20s or SUVs dropped to the ground, it has lost it's purpose and functionality. But thats the trend, and people like to follow trends. If people don't keep up with the style, we would all still have afros and tappered pant legs like Stevie B.

p.s. Sorry bout the hijack..

p.p.s. Ted, check the if the springs have moved out of the perch.

That to me, makes them rice. Or like I said, trendy, which is even worse.

Any performance shop that would touch an Escalade will never touch my car.

whats wrong with people more focused on making there car look nice then making it go really fast. a lot of people have no need to go faster than they already do, so they spend their money on making there car look nicer.

sure it may not be what you would do, but then again you probably aren't trying to acheive the same results out of your car as someone else is.

hmmmmm, good call, I havent thought about that...maybe one day this week I could stop by the shop and see if I can get one of the guys to put it on the lift and take a gander for me. ( I live in an apartment , so I dont have the tools [with me], or the place to take a look myself, apartments, especially after moving out of a 4 br/2 car house w/ a pool for my wonderful 2br apt. )

Dammit... Right after I clicked on post I thought to myself, should I have explained that? The 'X' in my name where a 'Z' should be had a point to it many years ago. It was to emphasize something I was proud of. The 'X' is a symbol used frequently by kids from the straight edge fringe of punk, and I started using it back in the late '80s which I could argue was before the hole mis-spelling trend of the mid 90s - present day.

I know I know... It's just anoter excuse, so who cares really. Bastard *** Tommy... LoL

Not that it matters, but here's a quick reason for disliking people with cars that are made to be prettier rather than faster. Basically, I believe that those people are phony *** car enthusiasts. They're into cars as status symbols and seek to prove how much money they make by driving the most outlandish and expensive car they can possibly afford (or have mommy afford buy for 'em.) They want girlies to look at their cars and be on their nuts.

Car Groupies suck... No seriously, they do. All ya gotta do is pretend some riced out show car is yours and they'll drop to their knees and it take in the throat nice n quick.

-Alan (not quite so straight edge anymore, but still got love for 'em)

haha all in fun Alan, But like Dave Chappelle said " Guys like nice cars, not because they like nice cars, but because they know women like nice cars."

I guess Different cars = different bait = different women..

NP,
infact as I agree with wrx ish, but at the same time I agree with you in the fact that ALOT, not ALL, but ALOT of ppl that spend $$$ on making their car LOOK good, are not REAL car enthusiasts, and they DO drive what the drive because its a status symbol....I know many ppl like that. Not that they are bad PPL, just not true car enthusiasts even though they do love what they drive. I guess a good way to say that is:

there are those that LIKE their car and make it look all pretty and shiny for everyone else. These are the ppl that you walk up to and start asking them questions about their car...and they say something along the lines of; "Well, I liked the way the exhaust sounded, I am not sure what kind it is exactly, but here is the number to the mechanic, you could ask him. but I have 45 15" subs, 25" rims, 12 monitors, 2 dvd players and a PS2....."

then there are those that LOVE their cars, and dont give a crap what other ppl think about it, if it is shiny or not, and can appreciate a car that is primered, just as much as a car that has a $10,000 paintjob. These types usually are more detail oriented about every aspect of their car....which includes whats under the hood, suspension, paint, interior, etc.... not just how it looks to others.

My 2¢

however, I STILL have a lopsided car! (your average car LIKER, Example A, would NOT have noticed that)

Damn good point... Example A wouldn't have noticed. Ummm... BUMP to help Ted!

I've got Tein's on my car as well, and the ride height looks uniform, so unfortunately I can't offer much else...

Oh except this, if I recall correctly, the front and rear springs look different, so putting the front on one side and the rear on the other would be pretty damn hard to do...

Good luck.

I bet you usually drive by yourself (who doesn't?) and because of your weight, it will make the springs on the left hand side (driver side) to settle quicker than the right side. The right side will eventually settled but to speed things up, may be you should consider giving people rides more often?

on that note maybe put some weights in a box on the passenger side floor that's more than your weight. if that doesn't even them out then inspect and re-install.

Thanks for the BUMP Xero!

THAT is an excellent idea Eric....hmmmm, I guess that would act as though someone was always sitting there..... which will, in turn, cause the right side to settle faster so it will "catch up" to the left. I am gonna try that.....although, I am also gonna have a look at the springs....just to make sure they are seated properly. I'm betting they are fine, but its better to be safe than sorry, right?!

Thanks to everyone for all the great suggestions, I appreciate it!

-Ted

p.s. in response to all the "ricer posts" earlier....this is something I saw on my way to Sac last friday....if THIS isn't ricer....I dunno what is....
