Suspension Mods Void Warranty ? (Steven's Creek)

I want to take my ride in for a potential warranty repair:

1) Do suspension mods (springs & rear sway bar) void a warranty? I hear it depends on the dealer. How is Steven's Creek in regards to mods?

2) Can I take it into any Suby dealer, or just to the place of purchase?

Thanks in advance!

the warranty states that the part installed needs to directly effect the part being warranteed (sp?) therefore, if you are trying to warranty a strut, having an aftermarket spring on it will void it. However, if you're trying to warranty a lightbulb, the springs shouldn't affect it

I am giving you this warning DO NOT BRING IT TO STEVEN'S CREEK... they are NOT the place that is renowned for thier excellent work. Go to fremont or Santa cruz..... your going to get overcharged and be unhappy with the results....

the bad thing is if you had an exhaust, which creates more power, and your suspension is "messed up" they will try to say the extra power put more force on the suspension causing it to be damaged. They are very sneaky in how they word things. Basically if you need something fixed, and its a bid dollar item, I would go as close to stock as you can before bringing it in. Might save you money in the long run.

Santa Cruz is hella cool, PM me if you want my contact there.

Also, what are you trying to warranty? and what mods do you have done to your car? I might be able to save you some headache by telling you what needs to be removed...

They aren't mod friendly per say, they are just a little more willing to tell you, hey, we noticed that you don't have any catalytic converters...you're going to want to do something about that, then bring it back to us tomorrow...

I would strongly suggest you take a few minutes and use the search function on "Stevens Creek" from this forum

you won't be asking that question again.

+1 I don't care how close they are to you. It's not worth it.
