Who the heck is "Peter"? On a side note, Petter Solberg crashed out of the Rally Deutchland.

Man that was a bad crash. I have a feeling that is the last time the Panzerplatte will be part of a WRC event.

That was pretty bad too. He got it all wrong over that crest, then like 5 seconds of just riding the thing. He saw those trees coming and just cringed. Damn.

They wound up calling that stage off because of conditions, didn't they?

The rally was very nasty. Wet pavement is (imho) the *worst* surface to try and race on. Even top level pros were cought out by this, as was evidenced by Panizzi's horrible crash (t-boned into a tree, could have been really bad (think Lovell)) and Petter's complete desctruction of the Impreza. That's as bad as I have *ever* seen a rally car get mangled. It's sheer luck that Mills is ok after that.

Panizzi was really lucky he had that couple of hundred meters sideways through the field before hitting the tree or I think Neil's right, it would have been a repeat of the Lovell crash.

And Phil is one lucky co-driver as well, I've seen people killed in cars that had a lot less damage, and it takes one hell of a force to move the upper corner of that roll cage that much, they had to have come down right on top of one of those barricade things, probably a couple of times at that- from the look of the in-car.
