Anyone who has lived in Hawaii probably knows just how effing nasty those fockers are. While I haven't personally seen one that big - I have seen them around 6-7 inches in my yard. They are nasty, and pretty hard to kill. I have seen one stay alive nailed to a wall for around 2 weeks. Fun stuff.

The scariest part is there are freaks that keep them as pets (see video) and what's even worse is you can get these by mail order from some places. That is just unreal.

Yeah what's real fun is moving construction trash and having one zip out of the pile toward your feet which then makes you instantly question the pile you have in your arms and forces you to drop everything and run away screaming like a little sissy girl. I snapped a pic of the last one I killed - this was at a bar in Kona that's right on the water. It was like 6" long and came cruising out from under my chair. I stomped on it a few times and it wouldn't die by the beating issued from my slippa - this hippie lady started yelling at me to stop because she thought I was a tourist killing a gecko. When I immobilized it, I pointed down and told her it was all hers...

HAHA.

dude i cannot imagine a slippa (flipflop for people who dont know) killing that thing. he looks well protected. i heard when they grasp onto you, you generally have to goto the hospital to get it removed. that is ****ed up.

omfg that is scary. i dont know about carrying a shotgun around though...maybe a flamethrower... if they dont burn, hopefully the pressure of all the fire coming out will blow them away from me.

and GODDAMN! i did not know they eat mice...i thought they ate little bugs...or something...

Judging by the way wombat was describing these things. An axe would only double your trouble. It sounds like a head would instantly pop out of the severed end and you would be now faced with its even mutated twin.. Horror movie fer shure...

Yeah slippas aren't so effective but the worst part is they wiggle out, and somehow know to climb onto your foot. Scary chit. I have chopped one in half and seen the two pieces run off in different directions. I have smashed 3/4s of one and seen it drag itself off. They are straight out evil and the purple/blackish blue ones are deadly. I have seen them bite like a zipper, like in a row but never heard of the clinging thing. Their stinger/jaws are wicked though and I could see that. ICKY!

the black n purple ones are deadly? as far as venom??? or just biting your throat until you die.
