just get a nice deck and better speakers and unless you listen to bass thumpin rap or techno you will be happy.
I used to have a nice alpine deck, amp, and infinity speakers.. and it sounded like I had a small sub, AND good speakers. stock wrx speakers are complete trash.. if you don't already have good speakers then work your way up..
it's like buying a wake board when you only own an aluminum fishing boat.

Scour Craigslist. Look for some Alpine Type S's (or Type R's if you're lucky), Pioneer/Premier Champions, Polks, lower end JL's, and what not. Look around at sonicelectronix.com just to get a good idea of what you're searching around CL for. Also look into putting a little bit of sound deadening on that trunk lid to remedy that ricer rattle. I haven't done so on mine even though GC's have tin cans for trunk lids.
