Then go buy the 370Z and STFU. I don't know about you, but I will take my high resale value, my five star crash rating, my top rated award winning bumper to bumper build quality, and my 150k millage motor...that I point out will blow your "370z" away both in the 1/4 and on the track.
It's only a car, don't get all butt hurt over it like you are bent over. I also have an STI but it's good to be objective, less stress in your life.

Because other attributes of the car are quite good but the thread of this title is "Subaru needs to step up". My comment was, Subaru needs to do better on the engine, as the rest of the power train is good.
Same reason why old owners won't be upgrading to the new platform until a better engine is out (also no hatch).
This thread is quite contentious but the comments are supposed to support or argue against the topic - your response falls under "ad hominem" fallacy.

Buy them later. It's pretty rare that it makes sense. It has to be something where a certain option is only available with a certain package or it's been optioned out and sat on the lot so they're selling it for essentially the cost without the options. LOL!
But yeah... the higher profile the car the more the options costs. Oh you want a switch for your window.... $10,000. LOL!
If in doubt, FLAT OUT

For example Ford:
Ford Bringing Jobs Back To The U.S. At Its Fusion Plant
Not many jobs but 12,500 in 2 years is pretty good.
Unsure how you came up with them not building anything in America?

Actually some companies are moving some production back to the US.

Ford is moving jobs back to the US which is nice. Subaru is putting more jobs in the U.S. as well.
Generally speaking, manufacturing is slowly returning to the US. Foreign and Domestic. It's becoming less and less reasonable to do it foreign for US based companies and it's making more and more sense for foreign to send it to the US as well. Closer to the majority of their market.
More companies are starting to do the things that we did to scare these companies away in the first place. With a more level playing field it makes sense to keep it or send it here.
My opinion, the government needs to tax outsourcing jobs. Make it even more of a level field... if it costs the same to produce it overseas then why not keep it here?
And even with our crap economy right now we're still one of the more stable economies as well as political areas to produce goods. With more and more crap going on in the middle east, eastern europe and scattered all over Asia it's more and more volatile.

I would like to see a "luxury" line. "Lexus" legacy or something like that, if that makes sense. All the complaining about horsepower, I have yet to want for more of it. I have yet to out drive my car but that's just me. Its not a muscle car.
Apparently martinis make me say "I have yet" a lot.

I opted for a wrx limited and its nowhere near as nice as a legacy with the same package.

Interesting discussion. So we have a divided group part of whom likes the 300 hp that's traditional, and some who would like more. When I last looked on the showroom floor at an STi, the price tag started with a 4 for a fully optioned version. Perhaps I'd just like to see the STi come out with something a little hotter, faster, and keep the fun factor.
I think a very high percentage of sti's get modded. Having more than 300hp shouldn't break it for you thats insane. Being under the idea the sti is a perfect machine with 300hp and can't be better with messing it up is highly mistaken. I think most people being put in this 300hp category are saying simply making more hp isn't going to make the sti a different or better car.
The issue is subaru has failed to take any extreme measure or another on the sti. They didn't try to cut it down to a 3100 lb car, they didn't give it crazy aero pits and after market type goodies, they didn't raise the power. They didn't make it look wild. All they have done is increase the chassis and suspension / diffs which is something that you can't really see on paper. Subaru has seemingly failed to make the car anymore hardcore, at least to anyone who just reads it's spec on paper.
All we need is carbon roof, even better bigger brakes, full array of bolt on things like strut bars and chasis bracing bars, 350hp, 8k redline less than 3200lbs, track day goodies like harness, safety equip, neat shades of paint. That being said I think a new sti modded to my taste would be amazing.
