Use whatever coolant... grab it from a honda dealer if you like, but be sure to get the addive that prevents head gasket leaks... I think it's actually stop-leak but they call it an additive
.
Also, make sure you don't mix it with tap water... use distilled water only to dilute the coolant.

If you're just topping off, the standard green stuff will work. If you're changing the fluid, make sure you use add the coolant additive that they sell. Water Wetter is good too.

MVWRX is right, use the subaru coolant. If not, at least use coolant that is phosphate and silicate free.

NW OBS: Mind to explain why not to use the Subaru coolant when certain other off the shelf coolants can damage the engine? Or did Subaru just pull this out of their *** to make us buy it?

I have engines come in with 250,000 ~ 350,000 miles all the time to the dealership that are owned by tight *** retired people who put whatever they damn well pleased in it and they have original radiators, water pumps AND motors!
If I am to use YOUR logic ~ I should pay more for a Subaru bike rack then a Yakima bike rack (even though Yakima makes them) because, what was it?
"Did Subaru just pull this out of their *** to make us buy it?" You be the judge. I get cost +10% on parts... I will NOT be the one born in the next minute (even at a discount...).
Snake oil my son. You can also put premium gas in your N/A for all I care. Your money.
