Subaru 4 Pots

Hey Guys-
Noob issue here....I need brakes and I was wondering if the Subaru 4 pots would fit an 03 WRX w/ 18x7.5 Rota Subzero's. It think the offest is 48 but not sure. Can somebody point me in the right direction?

Also if the 4 pots are not a good set up, what would be the best option for the wheel and tire combo I currently have?

thanks
Kevin

They will easily fit under those wheels. However, you might look into 05+ Legacy GT Brakes as an alternative. They will increase your rotor size and clamping force, while the 4-pots only increase the clamping force. I had 4-pots on my previous WRX and would get LGTs if i could do it again.

Debbid- thanks, now brake lines...what kind should I buy? A kit for the LGT or WRX, or is there a difference? Thanks for the recommend....

Anybody else w/ an opinion on a set up?

yep LGT is better because of bigger rotor size, the subaru 4pots looks nicer because its stamped subaru on them. i belive that AzN121184 has a set of Lgts for sale.

I Just bought 05 GT fronts. They are rediculously heavy but have a lot of size for heat dispersion and good clamping force. They should be cheaper than 4 pots as well. They don't stick out as much so are probably more wheel friendly.

You should get the steel brake lines for your car, not the brakes you are using.

The LGT brakes are massive. The rotors itself are a little smaller than the sti brembo brakes (by about 1/2 an inch in diameter, if that)

250 takes it. front calipers, rotors, and pads with PLENTY of meat on them still.

oh, and the wheels you have will clear these. let me know

The SS line kit from goodridge for a wrx will mate up to the LGT brakes perfectly. I've ran the setup for ~6 months and only upgraded because i had a killer deal on stoptechs that i simply could not pass up. Great upgrade from stock wrx brakes.

not to hi-jack, but do the LGT brakes clear the MY00 RS wheels? Since I know that the 4POTs fit them.

no they will not. The LGT brakes use a much larger rotor and therefore requires a minimum 17" wheel to clear the caliper itself. The 4 pots need the clearance for the brake pistons where the spokes of the wheel are. Hope that clears it up for you.

I have the 4 pot for a while now. They have the good solid feel. I also upgrade the brakeline to stoptech stainless.

In my opinon a great improvement in braking feel compared to the WRX. The 4 pot will need 48 offset wheels. It looks better then the LGT setup for sure.
