Modifying your intact tract at all (without CARB approved shiz) is illegal.

most of the time you wont get a ticket for the "FMIC". Because of the FMIC, you have to use an aftermarket Intake...THATS WHAT THEY GET YOU FOR!!!!! Keep that in mind.

Your correct. But, I meant...the reason they give you for the ticket, is because of the Intake (short/cold air)...whether you have a TMIC or FMIC. Most cops dont know the difference. They just see the filter. You hardly or next to never get a "FMIC" ticket.

Anyhow, if you have a FMIC that usually means you have other mods to make it worth it...so just remember...you play, you pay. That's the risk when you do mods.

How about if a cop sees an aftermarket TMIC with stock intake tract? I was thinking about this this morning. My TurboXS TMIC says HYPERFLOW right across it. Would a cop say something about this? Is it illegal to upgrade your TMIC while keeping your intake tract stock?

i dont get whys cops have to harass car modifications, well i do kinda, to stop street racers? maybe htey just "hate" on us, but in japan and hong kong, the cops dont mess with the racers, and i know some mods are illegal there to, like isaw on a chinese tv show that some traffic cop was all like "these modifications are illegal" after not finding anything else she could use against them, and the drivers were like "thats harassment" or whatever, i dunno, i just wish cops over here would leave car enthusiasts alone..because seriously, there are other more important issues they should deal with.
i hope everyone, like me, that if we ever become cops, we'd let these people go, cuz i know i will.
