It seems that Mitsubishi has set up an automatic web search that looks for registration and results information for any Mitsubishi. They then capture the race results information, match it to vehicle purchase and service records and proactively put the car on "warranty restriction". Those of you with new cars, may want to not list the actual car make or use a screen name.

Don't think for a second that Sub won't be implementing some sort of similar program, whether it be detecting reflashes or scanning websites. And we really shouldn't fault them either.

From what I read in that link it has little to do with modding parts. They are looking up race results to see who has performed in any type of racing, and voiding warranties that way. I still don't think it's cool, just clearing things up a bit.

All I can say is that the EVO is basically an $11k lancer with a body kit and a great driveline. How that made it worth more than $23k is beyond me.
I say "STI," but that's just me. I think most mature women would rank the EVO in the civic category.

the WRX is already being called the "new civic"...what makes the STi different from the Evo in that respect?
if it's worth anything, the Evo has edged out the STi in most reviews b/c of its handling. that makes it a very capable "civic."
