The girl was treated and released so she must be ok. at worse something broken. If her head took a nock they would have held her overnight for observations (and case building).

It's gonna be hard to prove that he was street racing unless he admitted it. I mean unless the light cameras got him. Otherwise he could just say that he was looking at the car next to him and lost concintration or something like that.

But yeah..if he gets popped it's gonna be hard. I doubt jail time. But he'll loose his lisense. Depending on his driving record...probably 6 month-1 year and have some community service to do.

Nah, that's a busy intersection with plenty of good samaritans (witnesses) around that would be disgusted by the situation. I'm sure he'll get convicted for street racing if he was actually racing. The court wont take lightly to a 14 year old girl getting hit either.

I'd be surprised if he doesnt get jail.

This is just plain stupid, There are plenty of open country roads in Petaluma to be racing at, or wait till tomorrow and take it to the track.

I'am pretty sure the girls parents will sue his ***, and he won't be able to afford a WRX anymore.

Only things he really did wrong is get caught, get in a wreck and hurt somebody other than himself. Sucks to be him right now though.

The only thing he did wrong was let his ego become more important than safety.
Been there, done that. Thankfully that doesn't happen anymore. Safety comes before having a good time, or having something to prove.

Even more thankfully, no one ever got hurt because of it.

Let the guy give his WRX to the girl he hit (nice starter car for her), and get himself a bus pass for a while.

I think that even though this guy is a complete idiot i-club should pitch in to get him some soap-on-a-rope as a complimentary gift. I'm sure he'd get quite a chuckle.

Drove by about 15 minutes after it happened

First off the girl is fine. I have not heard the details of her injuries, apparently she was struck and flew about 20 feet into a fence.

The WRX looks to be a total. He slammed into a cement and detroyed the front of the car. The engine might have ended up in cockpit.

Maybe he never got the cruise control recall...haha. He could probably use that if he never got it taken care of.
