I'm not saying go higher for your wheel bearing, I think that's the least of our worries.

Oh, BTW, wheel offsets should change in relationship of the width of the wheel, anyways. Subaru's 6.5 inch wide rim have a 55+ for a reason. Just as if you bought some 9" wide rims, you'll probably be in the 38+ or so range, to "balance" it out.

if sunken wheels floats your boat, great.

Those sunken wheels WILL allow a 225 fitment when that won't work on a 48mm offset (thinking wagon here).

i think the debates are due to differing tires. falken for example, tend to make their tires slightly wider.

damn ppl with their precious wheel bearings. how much is it to change the wheel bearing on a subaru anyways? last time i changed the one on my corolla and it was around $100 for all 4 corners. honestly for that price i'd rather replace my bearings more often in order to obtain that flush look. im at +45 offset and my wheels r STILL sunk in with the camber im running. who the hell uses stock offset anyways......

I found a thread on nasioc that has photos and documentation on replacing the wheel bearings. My friend paid about $1800 to get all 4 corners done at gruppe-s. For that cost I will do them myself. Only need a few extra tools that don't cost much at Harbor Freight and an entire day.

Edit: IIRC, the cost of the parts is about $100 per corner.

any auto manufacturer's oem offsets are optimal for oem cars because they are based on the suspension geometry, travel, tire size, and fender clearance. aftermarket wheels are based roughly on these specs, but offer better aesthetics and a slightly wider stance for wider tires and maybe slightly better performance. rota's come in 48 offset because rota's are wider than oem wrx wheels and its just easy to make everything in one offset i suppose. so for wagon owners that only means you may need to roll the rear fenders before sticking 225+ width tires on 48 offset wheels, depending on the tire manufacturer.

you sure about that?

Ask killaho...he runs 48mm offset on a wagon with a 235/40/17

wagon owners just need to suck it up and roll their fenders

Obviously I am not SURE of that ~ you got to read the quote you posted ~ I heard all kinds of conflicting info. Without a fender roll guys are gettin 225's into the rear (but not Falkens) with 52-53mm offsets.

Anywho ~ what does this have to do with the bricks on the 4 corners of the 06 WRX?
