STi hood scoop on a WRX..?

Well, I'm gonna order a STi hoodscoop for my WRX pretty soon..but I was wondering if I need the air splitter thing to go along with it. Does anyone know? Or what else would I need with it as well?

TIA

Ben

Personally, I think the STi schoop looks unbalanced on a WRX, unless you stick the STi wing on there as well, but then you should get the side splitters too, and the fog covers to complete the look. :-P really though.....that would be sorta rice. IMHO...I would just stick that money towards something that matters, unless your setup already rocks nuts....but whatever...

From what I've read the STi or aftermarket splitters put better air flow over the TMIC. Looking at my stock TMIC with stock scoop and stock splitter it seems the air is spread very poorly because all the dirt is on the top part of the IC (meaning the farther back of the tmic).

Since I've never seen a STi or aftermarket splitter, I wouldn't know how much better the spread is, but I can tell from my stock the spread is pretty crappy.

no way.. the sti looks great without the wing.... and you may think its "rice" to put the sti hoodscoop on a wrx.. but i think the bigger scoop looks beefier, and not to mention whats wrong with even more airflow to your intercooler?? not saying its gonna be significant.. but nothing wrong with extra air blowing into your IC.

I had an STI scoop with the stock WRX splitter and it definately does not adequately distribute the incoming air.

Have since added the ZeroSports Intercooler splitter and the difference is definately visible...now my entire intercooler is getting dirty which should indicate that the intercooler is working more efficently due to better air distribution.

And how can adding an STi Hood scoop be considered rice...since the car already comes with a hood scoop....Rice would be better defined as adding an STi scoop to, oh let's say a Civic.....

What is that supposed to mean in terms of getting an STi hood scoop? Instead of getting the hood scoop and an IC how about buying a used VF34 setup, a whole lot more power to gain than changing the IC.

If you go to an STi scoop on a stock IC the bellows will not seal and you will end up with a worse effect than with the stock scoop. Instead of having air pressure behind it you will have air leaking everywhere and more than likely lower the efficiency of the IC.

Yes it does fit though.
