Steel brake lines

Worth the money? What's the difference that you feel? Worth the Mod if you're Stock? If so... What kind should you get?

Totally, for sure. Pedal firmness, brake response and in some cases - stopping distances. I would say it's worth it either way, stock or modded, but brake pads really do make a difference too... What kind? There are tons - whatever you prefer for your vehicle or best popular brand I guess. I have TechnaFit and Porterfield lines on 2 of my cars. If I were keeping my WRX, it would get them too.

steel braided lines take out the "mushiness" in brake pedal feel caused by the stock rubber brake lines.

definately a must buy!

The two brands I've seen commonly available for Subarus, are Stop-Tech and Goodridge; I can't see much of a difference between the two brands personally.

If you're changing the lines, you have to flush your brake fluid system, so take the opportunity to use some excellent fluid, like Motul 600.

Also its a good time to change at least your front brake pads, if not front and rear, and get some more aggressive pads, like the Hawk HPS or HP Plus.

It's not the age of the car, it's the quality of the parts. You don't have to change the pads too, but you WILL notice a difference there (if you use good pads). I recommend Porterfield R4-S pads. Others might have different opinions.

Honestly, it doesn't make your brake pedal feel any less mushy. The reason our brake pedal is mushy is because of the master cyl. I know Calvin has the Stage 1 upgraded brake booster (master cyl) and that changes the brake feel ten fold.

Brake lines do it too... but its so slight that you can hardly feel it.

To be honest, I didn't notice any significant change. I think I noticed something only because I spent $100 and a couple hours installing them.

I didn't see an option for "getting them soon", so I voted yes. I'll let you know how they are once installed.

Hmmmm... the Stoptech BBK might something to do with it!!!

I was talking about the stock setup... and no, your brake pedal ISN'T solid.. if you want to feel a solid brake pedal, go drive a toyota corolla. Im serious.

The firewall sheetmetal flexes under hard braking (heh like the POS datsun 510s), so MRT sells master cylinder brace.
