Standalone ecu and flex fuel sensor

From the GT-R forums what I gather is the E85 content analyze doesn't adjust the tune on the fly it only tells you what octane the e85 is.

If you want it to adjust on the fly you have to do what FLI has done. Personally I'll just be buying it so I know what octane is in my car. If its anything less then e85 just take it easy. From what Mike at GST has posted Norcal doesn't get degraded e85 in the winter like other states do so having this crazy set up with another ecu seems a bit overkill.

I personally would want to run E85 all day and everyday. However, if I ever use my car on trips, I would like the ability of using get 91 octane if needed. However until then, I guess the solution is having two maps still. Unless your down to get the Link unit or the EFI unit.

I think the point of the standalone + sensor in the FLI application was to be able to have the ecu perform a map switch seamlessly regardless of whether you're running 91 or E85 with no delays or issues the same way the true Flex Fuel cars can. Having the ability to automatically detect octane level between different E85 offerings is a function of this.
