has anyone else hit their speed cut on their car? if so at what speed? i was driving home from my gf's prom last night(this morning) at about 4.30 AM and i think it was around 115mph. call me stupid or whatever but it happened.

 

should be at 135, unless they changed it for the 06's

 

i've seen more than 115 indicated on my 06

 

wierd... maybe my mods had something to do with it? intake and TBE? my CEL light was on but now it isnt.

 

I hear on my L, the throttle cut-off is at 110, but I hear that some people have hit 115 before it kicks in.

I may or may not have put the speedo needle straight down (so I'm not sure what speed I was going) but I do have an ECUTek so it might be that reason.

 

In my RS there was no speed cut off, you just run out of gears... My 06 def does not crap out at 115mph.

 

I saw 135 friday night with no cut off yet in my STI

 

CEL means you didn't fuel cut, something happened. Probably had detonation and your car pulled timing (feels just like fuel cut).

 

155 in my 05sti and nothing happend.

The thing is your load and sustained throttle affects your tune. If you are untuned or if your tuner didn't do much logging on the road (as in, only tuned on dyno) you might have messed up things happening when you go pulling in 4th, 5th gear. The more horsepower and more boost i run as time has gone on, the less I try to pull in higher gears.

 

my '02 has seen the far side of 140 a couple of times, (downhill with the wind at its back) I run out of road and horsepower to get any faster, no sign of a cut out.

 

4am day after thanks giving on my way to Santa Cruz for some black friday shopping. nobody but me on hwy 17. Hit 135 with more left but the fear of cops catching me got me to slow down.

 

i used a obd2 reader and it says code p244 wastegate somehting performance.
