SPACE, the final frontier. A snapshot of our insignificance, a total mind-screw.

I remember reading a great book on the "Philosophy of Maths" that got me thinking about all the other things that may exist out in space. The main thrust of the book is that we as humans are constantly looking for order in otherwise chaotic situations such as our being.
Just like Brucelee says:
we as humans need to understand and we always try and convience ourselves that we are right. If you take for a simple example the constant of Gravity, is it really a constant? Since its discovery the "constant g" has changed numerous times. Is it really a constant or does it make us feel more comfortable that we assign it a constant value? As our ability to measure it increases so does how understanding
What about all the other "Universal Constants" are they are important, we think they are, and we think that they will bring everything together into one big answer. Are these constants constant throughout the universe? We don't know but we assume they are cause it makes us feel comfortable. Are they even important or have we just put a number to something just because..
What do we do when we find something that causes us to question our intial beliefs? We change them! We adapt them! This was the main thought of the book, that maths the so called language of the Universe is not really its more our intrepretation of what the language should be. How do we know if aliens land on Earth that they will understand what "Binary Code" is?
We has humans are constantly trying to make sense of everything and I suppose thats what makes us Human! We create physics, we create biology, maths, science to do this. However look at every thing we created there is always an underlying question on How? Nothing is every fully solved or understood, but we will continue to try and figure it out.
You can also look at the religious, spiritual and emotional sides of how we evolved and the same is very true.
Anyways enough of this, far too deep for a Sunday Morn.. Love the Picture and all the BBC documentarys they really interest me and make me question everything
Just like Brucelee says:
They go hand in hand.
For all we know, space IS infinite. It's hard for humans to wrap their minds around the concept of infinity. Our understanding of the world is that things have a beginning and an end, that includes EVERYTHING, for something to not have a beginning or an end is beyond our comprehension.
How can something not have an end? It obviously exists, and had to have started somewhere at sometime, so how can it not end? That's how our minds operate which is why it's so difficult for us to understand the concept of no end.
For all we know, there are infinite things that literally do not have an end, like space... Does it end somewhere? What existed before the big bang? Did the big bang even happen? If the universe is in fact infinite, how? How does it not have an end? We have a very strict set of rules in which we live by, those rules are common sense and they dictate how we think... Those rules were created by us, and as flawless as we think they are, they are not. We only have a very minute slice of space and time that we can observe, leaving so much yet to be explored, and this photograph is a great example of how much knowledge we lack of our universe.

I saw this years ago. And if you believe we are just a grain of sand on a huge sandy beach of galaxies, you have to believe the possibility of other lifeforms are out there... just waiting to be discovered. Too bad humans are too busy trying to better themselves against one another instead of searching for others.

Those are some impressive pictures!!!
But let's talk about this:
Those pictures make me question things as well.
Like, if there was a big bang where did the matter come from?
If evolution is true and man evolved from boiling primordial mud, then how did inorganic matter become organic?
Those are two questions that no BB Evolutionist can answer, yet they are the foundation for the Secular Humanism world view. This world view, not scientific fact (meaning that it can't be reproduced, tested, and observed) is being taught as fact in our schools, when it is not fact but merely a world view. That doesn't make sense...
The Bible tells us that God created the Sun, Moon, and Stars on day 4 of creation for the following reasons:
We, the Earth, our Sun, Moon, Solar System, Galaxy, etc. aren't insignificant. We were made by the Creator of everything and us in His image

So who made god?

That's my point... That's what we think based off of our limited understanding of the universe... We think we have it figured out, we think we know so much, but in reality we don't know squat, our reality is based off of our perception, and for all we know our perception is totally wrong.
We believe in the big bang, and ever expanding space, but we could also be wrong about both ideas. Space could in fact be infinite, and always existed, never had a beginning or end... We have to face the fact that anything is possible.

Dammit bruce, u made me lose sleep j/k (but I did lose sleep). You'll learn alot about this stuff in college astronomy- and its even better if you watch it inside of a planetarium.
I youtubed something that deviated from downsti's youtube link about 10 dimensions (really interesting and a good watch christian, atheist whatever you are).
