To break-check someone implies that if the person following doesn't hit the breaks they'll eat sh*t into the back of your car. I'm sure a cop would site you for reckless driving if they caught you doing that.
Imagine how many pile-ups and fatalities have been caused by people losing their temper.
Ok, so I'm not perfect. I love it when I get tailgated by freshly detailed cars.. I just hose them with the wipers.

That's usually what I do too. Though, I'm not sure how much it works for people who don't care about cleanliness
Actually brake checking (to an extent) is in the drivers manual. If someone is tailing you, you're supposed to tap on your brakes lightly enough to get the light on to show that you're slowing down. And if that doesn't work, then you let them pass...
