Pretty nice place right? 2 story 3500 sq ft 5 bedroom 3.5 bath. In San Jose this would have been what, even with the soft market at least a million?

Lets see how much it is in Detroit. $200K?? $100K?? $50K?!?

nope...

and thats a 'nice' house in a decent area, look what you can get for the price of a nice dinner out with friends...

yeah I wouldnt want to live there either, just amazing that you can buy a house ANYWHERE in the US for what you might have in your wallet at any time

yeah well lets talk about football...

Your 2008 Detroit Lions: The worst team in NFL history

http://www.examiner.com/x-1330-Detro...in-NFL-history

they went 0-16!! that means that even if I made myself a one man NFL team, played an entire season in the NFL and just forfeit the game as soon as the first kickoff, I would have tied them for this season.

ahhh Detroit, is there anything you DONT suck at??

My brother lives in Detroit, I'll have him check these out for me. For $100 I can have a "summer home" to talk about to impress people

dont believe it huh? theres actually houses for ONE DOLLAR out there, these are condemned places that arent even worth the property taxes you have to pay on the lot once you tear it down, so the banks are literally giving them away!
http://bigpicture.typepad.com/commen...t-housing.html

more evidence...

http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll.../BIZ/805070389

For example, Detroit had more foreclosure sales in April than regular sales (570 of 932 total), and the median sales price for the month was $9,200, down 68.8 percent from $29,450 last year. Detroit's median price also was a big drag on April's median price for all of Wayne County.
So yeah, 9K is right where that first house should be, actually that article is 9 months old so Im sure the median has dropped more since then!
