I am very sorry for your loss Daniel. I could only imagen the pain you are going through right now.

I also lost a friend/co-worker recently who left two kids and a wife behind. Worst part about it was that it was caused by a pulled muscle in which had cause a blood cloth that went straight to his brain who woulda guessed?

RIP

I'm not all that strong I have many many many sleepless nights I just appear on the outside as strong. Just hang in there only time can heal and talking to people about it helps.

That is just a terrible thing to hear man. I hope you are doing better! And my condolences go out to you and Aarons friends and family. I am not going to clutter this thread, but I know exactly how you feel, it is really tough to lose someone close like that.

Dude... Daniel, really sorry to hear about what happened. What a terrible, unjustifiable situation. And people wonder why our country is going to pieces. My sincerest condolences.

I am saddened by this event... I do hope time heals you well, and that your friend rests in peace...

And yes, veterans never get enough credit... They serve their respective country for the greater good of their people. RIP.

I am now a bit afraid... I have a friend who just joined the military. He's going through training right now, but I hope he doesn't have to experience such pain.....

i know i don't know you personally or anything but i just wanted to comment that i feel terrible about what happened to your best friend. i think the part that makes matters really frustrating is that he tried to get out of it by stating he had PTSD and they didn't take it seriously. maybe a possible way that you could turn a positive from a negative (maybe it will help you mourn the loss of your friend) would be to help fight to get the word out there about the severity of the disease.

stay tough man. time will help heal the wounds. if you ever need anyone to talk to, you can always talk to me.

So sorry to hear about this bro! I have some friends in different branches that suffer from the same thing, I dunno about as severe, but none the less PTSD is real. I often hear from certain people that it's a bunch of BS and it pisses me off that they think that way!

RIP Aaron!

One of the saddest stories ever, I'm so sorry for your loss. Acceptance and time is the only medication.

Dan,
Your friend's story tears at my heart. One of my wife & my friends has suffered with PTSD for many years after the Vietnam war. He has moved from place to place across the country as he still struggles with the V.A. for his treatment. We visited him a few years ago while he was living in northern new mexico, and, although it's hard for him to talk about his experiences in Vietnam, that's 1 of the things that he focused on the most when we were talking. It seemed like it helped for him to talk about his stories and experiences. I recently learned about the organization called Disabled American Veterans. They help veterans deal with many different issues including finding jobs after the military, as well as helping them find counseling and take full advantage of their benefits. My workplace invited a speaker from this organization to tell us about what they do during our annual charity contribution drive. This organization might provide you with a way to help other people like your friend who might need help convincing their commanding officers that they are not ready or able to return to battle. My daughters soccer coach use to be in special ops, but was injured numerous times, as well as suffering from PTSD, and he continues to serve in the national guard until he retires.

Talking with your friend and listening to his stories was one of the best ways to help him with his pain. You honor him already by telling his story and holding in the highest regard the men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting our way of life. My family and I will keep his family & yours in our prayers, and you have my deepest sympathy for the loss of a lifelong friend.
