There's no loophole. Either he lives out of state, had those mags pre-ban (which obviously isn't possible for that gun) or he needs to take those pics and description of the internet VERY quickly.

during the big RENO guns shows, i have heard stories where DOJ people would follow some people back into KALIF...

one guy i know testified in a court case about this thing...

no. according to the current laws, you cant have 2 things at the same time:

pistol grip
detachable magazine.

(actually a few more things like flash suppresor, bayonet lugs, etc.)

that is why, something like the M14, keltec's SU16, etc are legal in kalifornia. and you have the FAB 10 and VULCAN lowers where the pistol grip is present but the 10 round magazine IS PERMANENTLY attached...
