Oh man that sucks so bad. I keep waiting for that to happen on my new car. It will make me very sad, but it's just the way it goes when you are forced to share space with people. Such crap.

Get some touch up paint from the dealer. IIRC, it's about $14 and it has both a brush applicator and a pen applicator. Probably your cheapest option. Fill it in, wax it, and hope it looks okay.

First, theres nothing to "buff" out Paul because what ever is there, has already been "taken out" ie, the key to the paint.
The best way to get it repaired is to paint the whole trunk, if you need a hookup I have one in SJ just let me know.
Also I might be able to help you with some touch up and polish if you would rather do that, Im not sure how **** you are about paint lol. What color is your car and what is the color code? If you want my help, pm me for further info.

A quick fix like a lot of people said is to do the touch up paint and fill up where the key line is...I know auto parts store carry this scratch remover from turtle wax, and it includes a clearcoat pen. Maybe you could try that out? Wash trunk, fill the line with the touch up pen/brush from dealer, then use the turtle wax clear coat pen. good luck with the trunk though, somebody bumped into my front bumper the other day, made the paint crack and ripped off some plastic off the front bumper...
