um, looks like he has a normal impreza guys...not an sti or wrx. So body parts, suspension, wheels, and shifter are probably all there is to do. No point in adding power components.
He wants it to look cool not go fast. I'm totally ok with that.
oh, and congrats and welcome btw.

Just a reminder I have the premium wagon. I'm not sure how sti or wrx comes into play here. I do have automatic and don't know how to drive a stick. I could learn it quite easily, as I've always had a good sense with cars (in the blood, whole family is in parts and other areas of automotive). I will try to make it out to the meet in Fremont tonight. I live in Newark and so its not far at all. I'll have to check it out
Yes and "he" is a "she". But I still got a set of *****. You gotta in the car biz lmao

I grew up in Newark.
And that last line about the ***** reminds me of that freshrex guy. Something about becoming an automotive mastermind.

I'm assuming your car is the non-turbo version, so power modifications are probably aren't the best to concentrate on.
There is nothing like seat time to really lean the car and see where it can be improved, drive it as-is for as long as you can. Then, when you are ready, I'd look into upgrading suspension. But, don't skimp on stuff and go for the best stuff you can afford. I would consider the GTWORX Bilstein setup.
Oh, just realized you may be a girl -- any girl driving a Subaru is automatically considered "cool", so no worries there.

I'm in no way an automotive master mind haha. I've been in automotive from the womb, my mom was a parts driver when she was preggo with me, shes a counter person at a chevy store now, my dad is a counterman at a honda store, my grams is in accounting at a toyota store. I've worked for a gm store, 2 toyota stores, a mercedes/infiniti store, and now a subie store. I can honestly say Subie is where I like to be lol.

The STI and WRX were brought up because being a 2.5i limits what can be done compared to the turbo cars. There isn't much that can be done to the non-turbo cars engine wise; there's some stuff you can do, but gains per the money spent on getting it done is not worth it. However, you want to the car to look good, so you don't have to worry about that stuff. People have already given you some good advise anyways. Have fun with the car

Its going to sound really dumb, but I want it to be "cool" lol.
I'm mostly looking at shows, performance enhancements, things like that. I'm not really a racer or rally person or anything. I'm more of an "great out doors" person vs city. But I guess the best way to describe it is "I wanna be cool!" Lame I know.
I do go on A LOT of drive and cruises. Up skyline, 9, 17 that kinda thing.

The stock Imprezas have about 6.1 inches of ground clearance. Maybe 2 or 3 inches would help when you're out adventuring the outdoors. Also, if you really love going off-road, some more aggressive tires might do.
For lift-kit options, I would consult the help of Dirty Impreza.
