Sold my WRX, need advice on new Suby

Hi everybody! Long time no talk! I moved to Colorado and sold my WRX (finally!). I have about $3-4k to spend on a new Subaru. Anybody have advice on whats good and bad in this price range? Any input is appreciated!

those are quite a bit more than 3-4k.

I would look for a an outback wagon of some sort for colorado. It snows a lot, that ground clearance will be good

Older Impreza Wagon should be pretty nice and inexpensive Older Forester should also be around that price range, hehe.

I have looked at a couple 96-99 Impreza wagons, but was nervous about their 200k odometers. But is that not too bad? I drove a 99 Legacy 5 speed sedan too but didn't like the transmission. It seemed sloppy. I'm not sure if I was just too spoiled by my WRX! The good Suby's go fast out here, and the others usually haven't sold for a reason!

We bought a '98 Forester off Craigslist last year with 153k on the odo for a mere $1500. The interior was torn up from the previous owner's dogs and she just wanted to dump it. We swapped in WRX seats & suspension and replaced the window weatherseals, and it was good to go. It has now over 190k miles and still keeps on ticking as a daily driver/corner carver. I'll give it another 100k easily. Old Subies ftw!
