Time to get a honda.
What about GM's deal? You may be able to walk away with a nice commuter car for next to nothing.
I may join you. Not because I can't afford the gas it guzzles... i'm just tired of having to pay this much for a daily driver.

Used for $10K or less:
1. Ford Taurus - a pretty good car that nobody wants, 3.0 liter 6 for way less than $10K
2. Hyundai Tiberon V6 - a pretty fun little car, not much on the freeway, but lots of low end torque.
3. Mazda Protege with the DOHC engine - most are SOHC not much there but in the DOHC models, they also have stiffer suspension and are tighter all around, I put 340 K miles on mine!
4. Mazda Miata - I think all years have an awsome 50/50 weight ratio. A ton of fun to sling around corners. THey can be gotten for as little as $2K.
5. First or second generation non turbo MR2 - the first gens are around $2K and handle pretty darn well, but you'll probably have to spring for a paint job. WARNING: These have less trunk space than the Miata but they look a heck of a lot better.
6. Honda CRX or Del Sol : The Del Sol's look better and have a better factory power plant IMHO, but the CRX's can be fully restored for a very reasonable price and you'll get another 100K miles out of it. It also has a lot more cargo space than the Del Sol.

Wierd, Seems like a grip of people are selling thier sti's.
could it be because they jumped the gun and bought it, only to find that they couldnt afford the monthly payments and insurance?
or maybe they just dont like the car...

The STi is not for everyone. It's harsh, loud, and expensive to drive (pads, gas, etc.). Once the new car euphoria is over and the aformentioned items get to you, you have to love the car enough to deal with it otherwise it's time for something else......
