Soap Box Derby in Palo Alto this weekend

I just got this if anyone is interested... can't really give any more info on.

ATC Palo Alto Campus: Hanover Street Closures

Event: The Palo Alto Soap Box Derby Local Championship Race

Palo Alto Street Closures:
· Saturday, November 12, 2011 and Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

· Hanover Street at Page Mill Road, to Hanover Street at Hillview Street, will be closed to local traffic
Pagemill to Hannover is a pretty good hill. I can imagine those carts will be haulin ***

Silicon Valley Soap Box Derby
ALL-AMERICAN SOAP BOX DERBY RALLIES
November 12 & 23, 2011 in Palo Alto, California
Saturday: One double elimination race, one single elimination race
Sunday: One double elimination race, one single elimination race
LOCATION: Hanover Street in Palo Alto. 30 MPH track. Parking off Page Mill Rd entrance to Hanover.
Each driver has their own lane.

Directions: From hotel, South on El Camino Real. Turn right on Page Mill and left on Hanover.
From 280, take Page Mill towards Palo Alto ~3 miles and right on Hanover.
DIVISIONS: Stock: Ages 7 to 13, 200 lb maximum weight, 107.5 lb maximum tail weight
Super Stock: Ages 10 to 17, 240 lb maximum weight, 127.5 lb maximum tail weight
Masters: Ages 10 to 17, 255 lb maximum weight, 135 lb maximum tail weight
RULES: The 2011 All-American Soap Box Derby rules apply. AASBD helmets (bicycle style) are mandatory
for Stock and Super Stock divisions. For more information on rules, go to Redirect.
Race Format: Saturday & Sunday: One double elimination race, one single elimination race.
Lane and wheel swap, timer differential. All cars must be weighed in and inspected prior to racing.
One practice run is available for first time racers. The race director reserves the right to alter the
race format as needed (e.g., to accommodate weather conditions).
Inspection: ALL cars will be inspected prior to the race. Check your car ahead of time. Any protest
concerning car construction must be lodged before the first heat. No protests will be accepted
after racing has begun (exception: if someone alters their car after racing starts).
Wheels: Z-Glas. Please bring your own wheels and label them with your name. You are
responsible for retrieving your wheels at the end of the day. You will start the race on your
wheels, but you will not keep your wheels after the first phase. Wheels will rotate from car to car
throughout the day, and you will get your wheels back at the end of the race. If you need to leave
early and your wheels are still in use, let the race director know and arrangements will be made to
retrieve your wheels for you. No lubrication may be added after the race starts.
AWARDS: Trophies for top 1st - 3rd racers in all classes with participation awards for ALL racers.
TIMES: Registration: 7:30 AM
Weigh-in and inspection: 8:00 – 9:00 AM
Practice runs as needed (one practice run is available for first time racers)
Racing Starts Prompty: 9:30 AM

How did I not know about this, I live like 2 min from there!!! I am trying to go to time attack sat. But would be down to meet up sunday if anyone wants to check this out. Maybe some cocktails at the nut after. We could park at the Nut and just walk up there -it is about a 2/3 of a mile away.
