different dyno, different numbers, what's real anyway?

Here are two plots. Both WRX's used in this example were reflashed with the same STX map from Vishnu. My WRX on Shiv's dyno and another WRX dyno'ed with a dynopack dyno.

My WRX (full stage1 kit installed) on Shiv's dyno made about 210whp. The other WRX has a custom 3" exhaust, and I think a BPM up pipe. His car dyno'ed at 209.3whp.

I prefer to go up to Vishnu.

From Shiv's dyno. The plot shows the estimated crank HP.

dyno plot from a dynopack dyno

for reference, here is my WRX with the Stage 1 kit using the unichip. this shows wheel hp.

if
#1. go to ATP
#2. go to Shiv or ATP

by the sounds of things (and I am wrong often) PimpWagon was seeing if people wanted to get their cars dynoed, not tuned. Which would indicate #1.

EDIT: I've been stumbling across an increasing number of people who hate Shiv, his tuning, and his dyno. Any one care to share what bad experience you had with him/Vishnu or what conspiracy theory you subscribe to? I have no connection to Vishnu or any other tuning house, I'm just interested to hear what people think.

what does it matter anyways.

if people want to fork over the $$ to get their cars dyno'd so be it.

what are you saying... only people who want a 'tune' should be getting on a dyno. that's probably the stupidest thing i've heard since someone said: "clippers are great!"

if you want to brag about HP #s, goto a dyno that will give you the highest HP reading..

if you want to tune..you can do it at any dyno since you're not interested in the actual HP, but only the increase of HP..

the increase percentage is the same no matter what dyno you're on..
tuning without a wideband is just plain stupid..

my 2 cents...

don't put words in my mouth. i didn't say anything even close to that. all i was trying to imply is what tommy so succinctly stated:

if you want to brag about your car, go to the dyno that spits out the highest numbers. if you want to tune your car, go to any dyno that has a wideband O2 sensor and record the percent increase in torque and power.

im down for a dyno as long as the price is within reason.. id prefer shivs dyno mainly because i think it was atps?? that doesnt have sufficient cooling.. or is that not the case anymore?
