So.... SC Mitsubishi... haha... no
Ok, so I posted here asking you folks whether to buy an 05 Evo 8 or 07 STi... And the story goes...
I initially ended up buying the 05 Evo 8 at Stevens Creek Mitsubishi (first mistake)... Checked the engine (I'm no engine expert, but I checked the best I could) - looked fine... interior - good enough... mileage - pretty good considering the year... body - "looked fine"... I did a car fax (even though they aren't 100% reliable), car checked clean no problems or issues, so I didn't really inspect the body THAT carefully with the confidence that it was fine. Asked the Stealership if the car had any problems, they said no, it was fine minus some rock chips. Looked at the car during the night and came back during the day. Didn't have a particularly great experience with the sales manager, but I won't go into details. Bought the car for an okay price, but I really liked it enough to settle on the price. Took the car to a mechanic to have inspected, almost immediately, they found missing bolts (uh oh), then they spoted areas on the front brace where they had bends and small areas of paint chipping (oh no...), then they found that the bumper was poorly installed and even had the front bezel loose(****... what does this mean...), then they noticed that the paint on the front fender didn't match the door and that the quarter rear panel didn't match the paint that well and he looked in the trunk and found weld marks and that some areas on the panel were denser than the other(Oh ****). So we concluded that undoubtedly the car has been in an accident, right there and then I felt really pissed that they lied and didn't disclose that information and concerned because the car has been signed off and everything.
The next day (today), had to fight the stealership and told them that they lied to us about the car and we were not happy. Of course SC Mitsubishi, being SC Mitsubishi, they immediately denied the car being in an accident and having no knowledge. Complete BULL****, if they were "supposed" to be a legit car dealership, their so-called "mechanics" would've immediately spotted those problems, though they could be naked to an average person's eye, but a SUBARU mechanic spotted them right away. So I had to fight them to get the car returned, eventually they offered me to eitherpay the restocking fee or check their inventory at their dealership and Capitol Mitsubishi.
So I said fine, I checked their inventory, I liked this Evo IX MR, but I heard a clicking sound when I started the engine (no thanks). I went over to Capitol, wow, what a ****ing joke. They wanted a 05 Evo VIII for $28K, and the intake scoop was held down by TIES, yes Ties, the ones that cops use as an alternative to hand cuffs. And it had a nicely modded intake window, WTF? and the other Evo VIII MR had a bunch of missing bolts. So I decided to pass on both of them, but the sales guy kept pushing us to buy them, and eventually offered on a new GSR evo X. So then... when we explained our situation at Stevens Creek, and waiting for 10 minutes they all ran away like we were a desease and basically told us, if you want anything here, we'll take it to Stevens Creek and you deal with them. Wow, great ****ing service and way to get some decent business.
We eventually got fed up with these people's arrogant attitude, paid the ridiculous restocking fee and went over the Capitol Subaru... had a great experience there... and the story continues...
Lesson of the end of the day (for me at least), don't trust Stevens Creek or Capitol Mitsubishi (Even Stevens Creek Subaru, but that's another story). Don't count on car fax. Inspect EVERY aspect of the car. And ALWAYS, ALWAYS, buy a Subaru
For now... LOL

Sorry to hear about that, but thats just the way stealerships are- too greedy. Maybe you should have taken the evo to a mechanic before you went and purchased it. Its just the life of an evo: you're bought new, modded and abused and returned to your cradle/grave.
Good luck with the future candidates, I'm sure you'll find a clean one if you don't rush and look hard enough.

Yeah, but Capitol were great, they really worked with us on the price we wanted. Despite what I've heard from other places, our sales guy didn't immediately say "we can't go lower than that" He went several times back and forth to get the absolute best price.
I found a candidate, but it's pending a mechanic's inspection.
Capitol Mit and Stevens Creek Mit have the same owner...
Good luck with Capitol Subaru... I had my share of experience with them and won't go back... Once again, good luck...

Yea... But I don't know how I could take the car to the mechanic's shop without having to buy it first, but I guess I could have him come in and take a look at it from the dealership.

If they won't you should immediately turn and walk out the door.
That whole going back and forth to get the lowest price is a total ruse, you seem to have fallen for nearly every trick in the book.

as for this "pending a mechanic's inspection", no sales are final until you take delivery.

Any reputable dealership selling a used car will allow you to take it to an independent mechanic for evaluation prior to sale.
If they won't you should immediately turn and walk out the door.

Sucks. I'd be careful at Capitol Subaru, while they're not as shady, their sales dept. loves to play games. Have fun with that joker Ron and his crappy Hawaiian shirts.
I wish people would say 'screw you' to the local dealers and look to other places. I ended up at South Coast Subaru in Costa Mesa and had the best experience I've ever had. I would have actually saved time if ivhad went there to begin with.

i was ready to buy an evo x from capitol mitsu, signed the paper work and everything, but they screwed it up for me... for whatever reason they 'mistakenly' wrote down my terms to be 5 years instead of 3... wtf is that?
so i bought a different car alltogether

Seriously, the "best price" from "going back and forth to the manager" is as old as the dinosaurs. If you think because he's made 5 trips or 20 trips it means you got a good price, you should dunk yourself in the frosty Pacific Ocean water and wake up. 2 options, use email, and email any dealership with a car you're interested in, a price on the car you like, and wait for an email back with a confirmation that they can do that, or with their counter offer. Don't believe them if they go, "Come in and we'll 'discuss your price'." 2nd option, just go to Carlsen Subaru and be done with this. They have been the best experience I've had short of buying our new Lexus at Freeman Lexus.
