Why is it always 3 & 4 cyl that have issues? on the 2.0 I could see the fuel rail starving the cyl but I thought they fixed that on the 2.5? is it still a a cooling issue? does that side of the engine run hotter?

well cylinder three has a ton of heat surrounding it from the turbo, up pipe, and headers...

i have seen more cylinder three popping than any other cylinder

I have never heard of the starving cylinder from the fuel rail. Please enlighten me as I am about to use said fuel rails to push some serious power on a 2.0 ltr fuel rail......

That was about 3-4 years ago perrin I think was the ones who started it all they were looking at cyl temps and found that the way the stock rails are #3 was not getting enough fuel.... it was in 2004-2005 when I had my first issue with that and there was never a second issue as I sold the car!

Sorry for the hijack all and thank you forte two opposing views. I was told even I dont need to worry about fuel rails till I hit like 500hp and above. Sorry perrin your fuel rails are pretty but if I can use the stockers I will.

Neither have I, if we discount mega hp drag race engines.

Teh Interwebs is full of misinformation.

Not poking the OP with a stick, but stock pistons can fail at stock power output.
Increasing performance on 'em is asking for trouble.
