Not wanting to break the bank so to speak.
But I need to get to work.
2.5 block, cosworth heads big ports, valves, cams
Now I am thinking, Just get the cosworth long block installed and be done which is $$$$$
Or build a block up and save a bit of money I am currently looking at the B.C. 2.7 ltr kit and Darton sleeve the 2.5 block. 102mm bore
The 2.7 kit is $2800 and uses a new billet crank, (Not a reworked oem STi crank.) Also come with rods and pistons to my specs.
Problem with the B.C. stuff is there is no subaru feedback yet. I cant find anyone using the stuff.
Cosworth is well proven. But I feel part of their cost is the name tag.
Motor already has studs and cosworth oil pump, air pump deletes, I dont need the ap delete plates as the heads will not have ap ports.
Which when its all said and done. GT35R and I am taking the car to Cobb for them to tune it.

Can't go wrong with cosworth parts man, I love the part list on my car. We have talk at the track about the crap on my car, you can get a great engine done for about 10k.
I wish you the best!

Yeah mike told me they had take it apart with another customers new short block because the had seen some clearance problems. They also used head studs and cosworth oil pump and a few other parts. as for the heads. They have never worked right. The leak down numbers after the rebuild before my gt30 was installed prove that.

sleeved stock block is the way to go if you really want to push for power.
If your looking for an out of the block solution that will last if you don't go overboard cosworth is a great solution.
If you have the money to blow and can afford a matched set from cosworth and aren't trying to drive 500whp every day then go for it. But if you're trying to build a track monster get the sleeved 2.5 block. You'll be able to push a ton of psi at it.

I'll use the cosworth intake manifold and their oil pan/pick up system.
I just got the intake and wiring harness off the engine now, But its started to rain.

good choice.
Quality heads like that with a good cam will really come alive with high boost and a 100 octane tune and the darton sleeves can take the abuse. I wouldn't be surprised with the right set up to see over 500hp on that set up with the right cams.
Choose your tuner carefully.
