This thread got me all int eh mood to go out and buy a gun again, so I went and did it. Purchased a Kel-Tec SU-16CA .223/5.56 on Sat. I can go pick her up on the 11th. Can't friggin wait. I already ordered a red dot sight for the top rail, a compact forend grip with four additional rails so I can mount the M-6 gun mount light I already have, a sling, and a muzzle break/linear compensator. Parts should arrive in the next few days. The fisrt pic is the rifle stock, the second pic is of the older 'A' model but shows how the gun folds and how the stock forend becomes a bipod, and the third pic is what my gun will look like with all of my ordered parts installed (minus the 30 round clip which isn't legal post-ban in cali).

did you check out the front rail system that is on the D model?
i contacted keltec about it. they said around $45 and it will moung just fine to all models. you lose the bipod.
just get a harris one instead...

Yeah, that's the 'compact forend' I'm talking about. I don't mind losing the bipod. When i shoot at the range I can always use the sandbacks if I want support. The compact forend was just too cool looking for $45 to pass up.
Plus I can mound my M-6 light that I bought to use with a home protection 870 Express I'm going to buy. Do you have a Kel-Tec? If so what model (A,B, or CA) and how do you feel about it? I wanted an AR style rifle, but they obviously aren't legal, and the FAB-10 route of having to split the upper and lower recievers JUST TO LOAD rounds just seems silly. To me the SU-16CA just seemed like the best option for a .223/5.56 in Cali. I tried a Mini14 once and didn't like it.-Chris

If that's up your alley you'll like the gun pictured below. It belongs to a member over at calguns.net. I love the SOCOM 16, especially with all of those add ons.

i'm thinking of getting the B model. this has an extended bolt handle where as the A has a simple thin release handle.
and i'm trying to get it in a tan color.
impactguns.com has the A model though for $425. kinda hard to pass up...

psst...
www.impactguns.com
the ammo (bullets are the things that shoot out of the firearm, the cartridge contains the brass casing and the bullet) are around $150 for the "cheapy" WOLF ammo from
www.ammoman.com
and you can shoot them at most outdoor ranges like in lake chabot and at the san leandro range.
or you can go to any federal land/BLM land and shoot there as much as you want, as long as you make sure that area allows it...
