He said qoute: Suby Dude said that if I installed a lightened pulley on my REX that my car will misfire"...

You folks know what I said lol

Way to go Joseph... almost lost a sale hahahahahahaha !

I installed it on his car anyways. He will let me know if it misfires..lol

Sooo... that's how they made the "misfire system" for the Evos in Initial-D!

i won a GFB pulley set from mpj perf, but im not goin to say how, =some might take offense (its nothing bad, and no not mansecks)

im debating whether or not to just sell it and buy other stuff because how much does a pulley set do?

Joseph was somewhat correct.

I have documented many times, that insalling lightweight rotating components (flywheel, pulley) sometimes creates additional noise that OEM knock sensors mistakes for knock and triggers misfire code.

9/10 it was caused by a lightened flywheel. Once by a pulley.

Not saying anyone is right or wrong but for what it's worth we have sold over 200+ Perrin pullies and have installed over 50+ without one customer coming back to us with a problem.

With respect to the stock pulley's harmonic balance (sorry more than a few beers into it) and how it's replacement cause skewy knock thus misfiring I would imagine this may depend a lot on manufacturer specific designs.

I always thought the majority of those funny misfire codes came from rich conditions or funny little piggy management system freaking out at weird loads (ala Unichip) although I can see how a extremely light flywheel may cause some misreading with the ECU.

Speaking of Initial D, what the #@$% is a misfiring system? I got the DVD version of the movie and they translated it as "INSPIRE" system....???

The dealership told me the same thing they will mis fire. They also said it's your car, you hate to have a pully void your warranty

They do not misfire after that.

ECU will think the engine misfires due to additional rattles and noises.

Do not misfire after what? Not sure which post your referring to there mate?

Agreed have seen misc rattles and such throw codes but never pin pointed them to a aftermarket pulley though.

Now, how would that Perrin compare to the GFB pully that Daredevil "won" ?
