So I am going thought my old stuff...

I am getting ready to move so I was going thought my old stuff and found my TWISTED SISTER and ALICE COOPER CD collection...

I almost cried...

I started listening to them back home in Moscow when you could get in some serious trouble for listening to that stuff during the USSR times...

Sigh...

Good old days...

Anyone else here likes TS and AC?

i love metal, well, sort of....because I grew up listening to it, I can't help but like it

VH1 aired 100 most metal moments on Saturday, so great!

I missed the Metallica movie but I definitely want to see that and all of their ridiculous breakdowns.

TS would be a bit after "my time" but the AC disks still are in heavy rotation in my car CD changer.

And I'm not talking the washed out commercial speed metal AC of the 80's and 90's- I'm talking the original band, records like "love it to death" and "killer", man that stuff ROCKED!

Metal? Man, when TS came out I was listening to Sabbath, Merciful Fate, Testament, etc., and of course Metallica. TS was like pop music to me... and besides, you had this guy dressing up worse than Boy George.

<ashamed>OK I CONFESS, I did own two Dokken albums </ashamed>

jason

p.s. ever think about how stupid the name "Metallica" really is? Its like Smokey Robinson naming his band "Motownica", or Simon and Garfunkel being called "Folkica".

Alice Cooper was cool for its time, but i quickly switched to Metallica, Pantera, Merciful Fate(+Kind Diamond), Sepultura, Annihilator and a lots of other bands i can't even remember now.

You must have been very young when started listening this music

What about Quiet Riot? If you admit that you listened to Twisted Sister, then I will admit that I listened to
Quiet Riot.

Lars and James were pretty much just out of high school when they came up with the name, pretty amazing that it got them as far as it did...

Twisted Sister is great, but they don't stand a chance against Iron Maiden. Speaking of TS though, have any of you seen Strangeland?
