funniest thing was, while watching last thursday nite, where tons of comic book fanbois were, when the head SHIELD dude kept saying what the acronym way, at the end, when he just said, "just callus SHIELD," a few of the comics geeks cheered around me.

I was the only person in the theatre that laughed out loud @ when Stark said "I was doing a piece from Vanity Fair".
Oh and when he was testing the thrusters...3% thrust = self PWNage

Finally ended up watching it, and I have to say it was pretty awesome. Robert Downey Jr plays a great Tony Stark. <~~~Guess who's also in the upcoming Hulk movie to.

Along with the scene at the end of the credits of Iron Man. it looks like Marvel is trying to piece together the comic universe using the movies.

They better make a sequel, that was an awesome movie. It was definitely one of the best new movies that I have seen in a few years. So good in fact, I didn't want it to end.
Not being into comic books at all (I've never opening one in my life) I tend to not like Super Hero movies because everything is so "fake". An example would be Batman (which was also a very good movie) and the city of Gotham. It's a total 'super hero', 'comic book' city. Where as in Iron Man everything is pretty "normal" taking place in Malibu, CA and the Middle East. I really liked that about this movie. Not to mention Robert Downey Jr. place his character very well and Gwyneth Paltrow is pretty damn cute.

Apart from the "Afghanistan" scenery being obviously shot in California (just off of 395 between Lone Pine and Bishop), I really thought it was a great movie too, a good mix of humor and action, and while not totally believable, it did seem a lot less "comic-book" than I had expected
