i'm looking to ride Kirkwood, Sierra, or Northstar for a day trip.

the Nat'l Weather Svc calls for a bit under a foot for today & tomorrow. and a chance of snow on sat.

Do you hear the freshies calling you, too?

 

Double check w/ Kirkwood to see if it is open this weekend. I was there last weekend and they blew up their main generator and shut the mountain down.

 

When did that happen? I was there Sat and it was cool...maybe I'll head to sugarbowl this time around though....

 

Sunday afternoon, the generator was on fire. Flames were shooting a good 15-20 feet in the air. They fired up the backup, got everybody off the mountain. I feel bad for the employees who live up there and have no power(which probably means no heat).

yeah, i read somewhere that happened on sunday around lunchtime. but didn't y'all get hooked up w/ some complimentary tix or vouchers for another day? i just checked their site, and tix will only be 30 bux tomorrow & friday!

 

northstar isn't open yet...they open on the 20...so im hitting up sierra on sat and sun

 

I'll be riding Sugarbowl all weekend. Hell, all winter! Anyone heading up that way on Sat. or Sun.?

im goin up for the weekend. not sure what resort im going to yet.. getting my sierra/northstar pass, im gonna be in northshore, and northstar isnt open.. might drive down to sierra cuz its a fun drive but ill probably get lazy and stay north shore.

 

I'm at Sierra for thurs/fri.... look for me with a black jacket that says KILL on the back. :P
