Are Smog Tests in SF really $60???
My 2000 GC8 is turning 7 and the DMV says it needs to be smogged before I can get my new registration tags. I took off my after market engine enhancements a while back so I have no fears of not passing. But, I have been calling around and in San Francisco to San Bruno I can't find any that are cheaper than $60. What ever happened to a $29.99 smog check?
Anyone know of any inexpensive places?

i know a place in Mountain View where the guy is pretty easy on letting mods by. He also will give you a $20.00 off coupon if you ask for it, i think that makes it $50 though.
Smogs got more expensive when shops had to spend upwards of $50k to install the new dyno systems. Of course, this doesn't affect us - but we still need to pay like everyone else...

Over here in Daly City most of the smog centers charge about $50.
You could try "Tom Automotive" at
1166 Hillside Blvd
Daly City CA 94014
30 for test and 15 for certificate plus tax comes out to about $50.
I know another place on mission close to Daly City that charges a flat $40-45. Once I find the address I'll let you know asap.

If you need to take it a smog only center, try this one:
http://www.potrerotestonlysmog.com/index.html
I took my gf's car there when she needed it done. It says $65 but there's a coupon right underneath for $20 off. Just call them and mentiont he coupon, came out to be about $55 with all the tax and crap.
If you can take it to any center, try Don's:

I took my mom's car there, they really only charged me $40.25.
