For a while now, I've been considering getting a SmartCar for two. Does anyone know someone who's bought one, if so, how much did they pay.

yes, there are two different models and the Mercedes seems to be the better one (although the Mitsubishi does have cup holders). The one highlighted in the last Road & Track was the Mitsu one.

 

I called the SF dealer but they said they won't get any until next year. Do you know what other smartcar dealers are in the area? I live in San Jose, but I don't think there's any there.

 

I'm pretty sure there is one in santa cruz.

theres a smart dealer in san jose next to jaguar intersection of stevens creek and saratoga ave. but i think you need to have reserved one in order to get one
in the next few months
