Yea it was, but at the moment I was extremely pissed just because she would not let me buy anything else and it took me about 30min to get everything and wait in line.

It may have been, but I was very calm going towards the cashier. When she scanned the oil, thats when she told me I have to be 18.. And when she wouldnt show proof and not let me buy anything else, is where i got pissed.

That may be true, but the legal driving are would be 15 1/2 at the moment.

If there's some type of law about the oil, then that's understandable, but not allowing you to buy the rest of your groceries is stupid as Jessica Simpson. She could have easily just removed the oil and sold you everything else. This is why I never go to Scammart.

I would understand, if there was actually some type of law, but I got clarified with the autoshop near my place, and they said there is no law at all. Unheard of.

I seriously didn't get why she would not just let me buy everything else... Good thing I brought my business somewhere else. And lesson learned, NEVER going to Bull****mart again.

Either way, needing to be 18 to buy motor oil is BS.

I understand medicines, because todays teens from what I hear in class and such, will get any type of drug to get a halucination or something.. Also, the chances are that people can and will overdose if given the immediate access to any sort of drug.

But motor oil is something that REALLY doesnt make sense. Im still stupified by the cashiers act.. Maybe she doesnt change her oil, or doesnt even have a car...... But either way, I dont see what you can do with engine oil...?? and I havent come across anything about any laws or regs on google.

Don't break your keyboard trying to find anything on motor oil. Chances are, it's either (1) clueless cashier, or (2) some store policy that has nothing to do with law.

i wont, but its strange, just a few months back, same cashier, same store, and I bought it. I highly doubt walmart would do that, since they are a store wanting to sell though.

Seriously... I would have waited for the store manager and said wtf.

The oil and age thing is B.S. Denying you the purchase of other goods because you don't have id to buy another product is B.S.

If you went to a store and tried to buy beer and they said... can I see your id and you said you didn't have it... they would NOT tell you to leave. I've actually had it happen. I was probably 30 and got asked for my I.D. Didn't have it. They just wouldn't sell me the booze but sold me the rest of the stuff. Made my buddy buy the booze. WOOT!

I would file a complaint with corporate. Walmart is strict as hell about this kind of stuff. They're strict as hell with EVERYTHING.
