i couldnt buy cough syrup in college because i wasn't 18. its stupid if that is actually a law but it wouldnt surprise me being that this is CA

Pretty sure that's a national law...cough syrup with dxm can mess people up...same with sudafed, you gotta be 18

I have a feeling it was a misunderstanding or a systems error and your attitude made it into something else. If their register is asking for your birthday then they have to check to cover their own ***.

It's 18 For anything controlled like that. But no ID for my prescriptions

I suspect that oil is considered to be a hazardous substance and that is why they wanted ID. I was Googling around and it sounds like you have to be of legal driving age to buy gasoline as well.
