Silver Cavalier on Mines Road

Ran into Ron today he drives a silver Chevy Cavalier. If you happen to run into him be preparred for some serious fast driving. This guy is a former SCCA driver, retired from racing now but still enjoys beating up on any unsuspecting sports car drivers on his road! He lives up on Mines and drives it 5 days a week. This guy was backing it in to most the corners. At first I thought it was some young kid just driving the wheels off his moms car but after watching him slide it up to the corner and power slide thru it I knew this guy had skills.

I love driving Mines Road if anyone wants to join me this weekend let me know.

Mines is an awesome road. i've never seen a silver cavalier out there backing it into the corners, but i'll definitely keep my eyes peeled.

Also i saw your car the other day at Osh and you have stock WRX wheels. What happened to the BBS 17s you had?

Mines road is the back side of Mt Hamilton road. 50 miles.

Daniel would be much better suited on the tighter, shorter, 18 mile West end into san jose. But i'm sure he's have a great time on mines too

I'd like to meet this guy. Most i ever see up there, and i'm on mines 5-6 times a year, are ranchers, motorcycles, and cyclists.

Please be careful of the motorcyclists there - As an avid motorcyclist, I have ridden there before and nearly been hit by oncoming cars who think they own the whole road. Stay on the right side as much as you can when approaching blind corners, etc. Bear in mind that the road is generally of low quality, and a motorcyclist at his or her limits will probably stand up a bike and run wide if he or she were to see a fast car coming towards them sideways.

Be careful.
