I know a few people who run padded cages on their DD with no helmet, its not illegal to have, but the multipoint harnesses are illegal unless they mount to factory points like the schrothe rallye series.

And they have to be DOT approved as well.

+1 they may actually cause more damage to you in an accident if you're not wearing a hans device and helm.

I wear one of those as well. With a full fire suit. Just like Ricky Bobby!

My car is driven on the street 2 times this year. once being tonight. That being said if I go to BAM its more then likely going on a trailer.

The car is just to obnoxous for street driving.
The whine of the 35r turbo and twin wastegates at full boost. The JIC Ti catback is well loud even with the silencer installed.
Then the ride is pure **** on california streets. I would need a kindey belt before a helmet.

I have two other cars, and my truck to drive which is much better suited. And my motorcycles would be also better on gas.

While the m5 guy was surprised.. There was no Hans, helmets or fire suits used in this little shenanigans today.

Funny, I had a run in with some silly BMW owner in a wanna-be M5... I was driving down 4th st in SJ headed for the freeway when the M5 d-lord starts revving next to me and takes off so he can get in front of me and show off how fast he could take the onramp, all while displaying impressive double-fist wheel gap and camry-like body roll. His aftermarket chrome wheels and ****ty sounding exhaust just added icing to the cake.

He wishes it was an M5 (Was a 5 series, 2000ish)

So your saying that the GT3 RS is fully caged? I'm not saying you can't be a dumb *** and drive like that on the streets, I would do the same. I'm saying you get into a accident and someone gets hurt your screwed. That cage is not safe for you or the other driver, you can't drive around with a helmet on your head. Getting into a crash with a cage with no helmet would not seem to be the best idea.

is there a douchebag discount for M5?? or like a douchebag rebate or something??
I had one of those on my way back from santa cruz on 17, rumbled through the straights but chickened out as soon as 17 started to get curvey.... I'm sure a good driver with that car would've smoked me but this was just another good old douchebag!

That's what I thought, different with a full race cage! Lol the Atom is not even a car, it's in a different league. I'm not police officer, I just know what I have been told. I know in my area you would get pulled over and ticked with a full roll cage, that's not to say ever cop would. When I'm not busy smoking bong hits I will check into the CVC code!

So I just got done smoking some bomb *** Ganja. I found out that the cage is legal in most cases. If the bars are in the way of front or rear windows they can ticket you. Another ticket would be the right seat belts, another would be how safe the cage is. People have got tickets because of cage being to close to head. I guess it comes down to the dick head cop you run into. I'm guessing in your situation the roll cage is the last on the list. I'm sure the whole motor and exhaust are illegal. I'm not trying to be a jerk, just pointing out your crazy. I would do the same so I should not be talking.......

"adults" bragging about smoking "bomb *** ganja" make me LOL.

Also, please to be explaining how any cop would write someone a ticket for how safe (or unsafe) their cage is constructed? They arent SCCA track officials, and I strongly doubt they carry any sanctioning body's rulebook around in their black and whites. Wow. Smoke some more ganja.
